About South East Wind

South East Wind describes a survey area off the coast of counties Waterford and Wexford. A comprehensive study is planned to see if the area is suitable for an offshore wind farm. We are currently carrying out aerial bird and marine mammal surveys and we have applied for a foreshore licence to carry out surveys in the study area.

Status Update

Mainstream’s South East Wind is at an early development stage. We have applied for a foreshore licence, which is the permit required to perform surveys and investigative works of the seabed within 12 nautical miles.
